Releasing an Impounded Vehicle
The registered owner of the vehicle must come in to the Fresno State Police Department and provide the following:
- proof of ownership
- current registration
- a valid driver's license, or with someone currently licensed to drive
An officer shall verify the owner information, verify the vehicle can be released, and verify a licensed driver is present prior to releasing the vehicle to the registered owner.
The release must be taken to the tow company by the registered owner to obtain the vehicle.
