Benefits

Fresno State Leave Programs

Fresno State provides Faculty, Staff and Administrators (MPP) with the opportunity to apply for time away from work for medical or non-medical reasons for self or for family care.

Fresno State offers a variety of leave options to support Faculty, Staff, and Administrators (MPP) who need time away from work for medical, family, or personal reasons.

Several types of leave may be available depending on your specific situation. For more details about the available programs, see the options listed below.

Please note: Time off is approved in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), and Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations. Employees who are absent from work for more than five (5) consecutive workdays are required to follow the medical leave of absence process. Failure to do so may delay or impact eligibility for leave benefits.

To discuss your leave options, you may schedule a confidential appointment with a Leave Coordinator. Meetings can take place in person, by phone, or via Zoom. Eligibility and use of leave credits are determined on a case-by-case basis.
