Adjustments to Pay
Pay for employees may be adjusted in one of two ways to reflect the work hours - Overtime and Shift Differential. Read more below about these two types of pay adjustments.
Overtime is defined as authorized time worked in excess of forty (40) hours in a seven (7) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour period beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday and ending at 12:00 midnight the following Saturday.
Overtime is paid on the 15th of following month. (i.e. OT worked in January is paid February 15th.)
Note: Speak with your department timekeeper or direct manager on any internal reporting processes.
For Payroll purposes and payment, Overtime is submitted on the Miscellaneous Pay Form (Found on the Forms and Publications page) enter the appropriate Payment Earnings ID and number of overtime hours worked. The Payment Earnings ID defines the overtime calculation.
OTST for straight time (1.0 rate)
OTPR for premium rate (1.5 rate)
Alternatively, if permitted, overtime may be reported as Compensatory Time Off. For more information, visit the CTO page.
