Driving Authorization Process

All employees who are driving on university business must be authorized to drive on university business.

Authorization to Drive on University Business is for paid faculty, staff, student assistants, or registered volunteers.

Prepstep: Complete the Registered Volunteer Application and Appointment Form if you are not a State Employee. 

Step One: Driving Authorization Request Form

Note:  Submission of this form is an annual requirement.  Once submitted, you will receive an email to remind you to re-submit this form a month prior to your due date.

Step Two: Complete the following mandatory training(s):

Step Three: Driving Authorization Notification

  • Upon reviewing your driving record and application, EHSRM will send you confirmation of driving authorization if you are approved. 

Driving authorization is valid for 1 year. A Driving Authorization Request form is due annually. The Driving Safely, Driving Smarter and Powered Cart Safety Course are due every four years.
