Student Assistant Classifications
There are different class codes for Students depending on the type of student, time of year, or type of work.

| Student Assistant | 1860* (prev. 1870) | US Citizen/Permanent Resident Student employee currently enrolled in classes |
| On-Campus Work Study Student Assistant | 1861* (prev. 1871) | US Citizen/Permanent Resident Student employee currently enrolled in classes with a Federal Work Study award and works in an on-campus department/office |
| Off-Campus Work Student Student Assistant | 1872 | US Citizen/Permanent Resident Student employee currently enrolled in classes with a Federal Work Study award and works in an off-campus department/office |
| Nonresident Alien Student Assistant | 1868 | Non-Us citizen/Permanent Resident Student employee currently enrolled in classes |
| Bridge Student Assistant | 1874 | US Citizen/Permanent Resident Student employee not enrolled in Summer Session but working during June and July pay period |
Note: *New job codes have been established to appoint Student Assistants now represented by California State University Employees Union (CSUEU). Any changes to current employment provisions/conditions as a result of negotiations will be provided in a future communication to the campus.
