Insurance Requirements
California State University, Fresno requires Certificates of Insurance of all vendors/contractors that provide services on behalf of the campus. The vendor/contractor shall furnish to the University prior to the commencement of work, an underwriter's Accord Form of insurance stating that there is insurance presently in effect for the vendor/contractor with the following limits:
- Liability Coverage: (comprehensive or commercial)
Minimum limits each occurrence $1,000,000 general aggregate $2,000,000. Higher limits may be required due to the nature of the event or the number of people in attendance. A Certificate of Insurance must be provided showing specific information as to the date and event for which the certificate is being issued. - Employer Liability (commercial entities) $1,000,000
- Automobile Liability:Provide proof of coverage with the following limits:
- Private Individuals: liability of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per occurrence; property damage of $50,000 per occurrence.
- Commercial Entities: business automobile liability with a combined single limit not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence.
- Worker's Compensation: as required under California State Law
Insurance shall be placed with insurers with a current A.M. Best rating of no less than A:VII.

The general liability policy is to include a separate letter of endorsement naming additional insured endorsement that contain the following provisions:
The California State University, Fresno; The California State University, Fresno Foundation, Inc; The California State University, Fresno Association, Inc; The California State University, Fresno Athletic Corporation, Inc; The Board of Trustees of the California State University; The State of California and their employees, agents, volunteers and assigns as additional insured for the duration and purpose of the event(s) being held.
For any claims related to any project, the Contractor's insurance coverage shall be primary insurance as respects the Campus, its trustees, officers, employees, representatives ad assigns. Any insurance or self-insurance maintained by the Campus, its trustees, officers, employees, or assigns shall be excess of the Contractor's insurance and shall not contribute with it.
Each insurance policy must state that the coverage shall not be cancelled by either party, except after thirty (30) days prior written notice by certified mail.
