Appeals Process
Employees Representred by a Union
- Please refer to your collective bargaining agreement. This agreement outlines the complaint procedures, processes, and timelines for filing a grievance.
- If you are not eligible to file a complaint under a collective bargaining agreement, or if your collective bargaining agreement incorporates the CSU system-wide complaint procedure, please refer to CSU Executive Order 1096 for the complaint procedure.
- You can also refer to Human Resources Office procedures to file a Discrimination, Harassment or Retaliation Complaint.
Employees also have the option to file complaints with external agencies, including:
- The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing
- The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)
Note: Nothing in these procedures should be construed to impede or prohibit a timely filing of an ADA or discrimination complaint with the appropriate external government agency.
Retaliation Protection
Retaliation against an employee for filing a disability accommodation request, or
for filing a complaint or appeal with the Human Resources Office, is strictly prohibited.
Fresno State is committed to fostering an inclusive environment and prohibits discrimination
based on disability. If you believe you are experiencing discrimination due to your
disability that has not been addressed through the ADA accommodations process, please
contact the appropriate ADA Coordinator for further assistance.
