Interim Manager of Organizational Excellence

Joshua Smith, M.A. | joshuas@csufresno.edu

Joshua Smith, M.A.Appointed as Interim Manager of Organizational Excellence in January 2021, Joshua brings 15+ years' experience leading talent and professional development programs and initiatives within higher education, most recently at the University of Southern California. Joshua's approach to talent and learning integrates leading practices from his diverse background in marketing, psychology, communication, the performing arts, and human resources. Joshua is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and has been trained and certified as a professional coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). His areas of expertise include: recruitment and talent acquisition, career planning and development, interpersonal and management communication, internal communication, instructional design and training facilitation, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning. Joshua earned his Bachelor of Arts in Radio, Television, Film from Biola University and earned his Master of Arts in Psychology, Clinical Emphasis from Pepperdine University.

 

Professional Development & Wellness Coordinator

Katie WilliamsonKatie Williamson began her career at Fresno State in 2012 as the campus Wellness Coordinator in the Employee Assistance & Wellness office. In 2013, she began supporting the professional development program, and in 2014 became the Professional Development & Wellness Coordinator when the department transitioned to the Office of Organizational Excellence. Katie is a two-time alum of Fresno State, receiving her B.A. in Psychology with a Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis and her M.A. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology. As a student, she worked as a student assistant for the Smittcamp Family Honors College, a Teaching Associate for the Department of Kinesiology, and a Graduate Assistant; she was also awarded the Graduate Dean's Medal for the College of Health & Human Services, Outstanding Graduate Student for the Department of Kinesiology, Graduate President's Scholarship, and the Smittcamp Family Honors scholarship. As a staff member, Katie continued to serve the Fresno State community through participating on a number of campus communities, as the Chair of the Staff Assembly for 8 years, and currently serves as the Chair of the STAR (Staff Training And Recognition) Day since 2015. Her areas of expertise include leadership development, team building, self-care strategies, change management, time management, spirituality and leadership, exercise & the brain: why exercise makes you happy, effective communication strategies, navigating challenges, wholehearted living, and developing your strengths and talents. Katie is a certified Gallup Strengths Coach, Real Colors Facilitator, Prosci Change Management practitioner, and Professional Life Coach through Coach for Life: Coaching the Human Spirit. In her spare time, Katie trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and coaches others on making healthy lifestyle changes and living a wholehearted life.
