The Grounds department is responsible for all aspects of the maintenance for the grass, trees, shrubs and flowers around campus buildings, athletic facilities, parking lots and the University House. In addition, Grounds is called for installation and maintenance of irrigation, trash and recycling, pest control and event support.

Arboretum

The Campus as a whole is an Arboretum and contains several specialty gardens including a Rose garden, Iris garden, Japanese Maple garden, Shade garden and Allergy Free Garden. Along with these gardens there are over 3000 trees on campus and 100 acres of lawn and landscapes. For question regarding the Arboretum contact Dr. James Bushoven at jbushoven@csufresno.edu.

Waste and Recycling

Under our waste and recycling contract the university receives 100 percent of the recycle proceeds . We have a 72 percent diversion rate, meaning that we divert three quarters of waste away from landfills. Turf Management

The Grounds staff oversees the care and maintenance of Bulldog Stadium, Bieden Field, Bulldog Diamond, Warmerdam Track, Wathen Tennis Center and the practice facilities.
