Emergency Procedures & Preparation
Training
California State University, Fresno is constantly providing and receiving training to meet the different levels of emergency response needed to provide a safe learning environment.
The staff, faculty, administration and especially the personnel of the Fresno State Police Department are mandatorily required to take courses from the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
Most of these SEMS/NIMS training courses can be found and taken on-line from the website, www.fema.gov. The staff, faculty, administration and personnel of the Fresno State Police Department have different mandatory required courses depending on their various positions within the university or role they play in the Emergency Operations Center. At the end of each training course there is a test which after successfully completing the course, you will receive a certificate of completion.
For the staff, faculty, administration and personnel of the Fresno State Police Department, please contact the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator at the Fresno State Police Department for your specific mandatory required SEMS/NIMS training courses, instructions on how to take the on-line or other SEMS/NIMS training courses and how to provide the documentation/recording of the SEMS/NIMS training courses you have taken.
Anyone that is interested in taking these SEMS/NIMS training courses from the FEMA website is welcome to do so.
Other training courses will be provided in the future.
