STAR Day

Staff Training And Recognition

STAR Day is a campus tradition centered on celebrating staff for milestone years of service and providing a full day professional development conference. Service award recipients are traditionally honored at a special luncheon in the Save Mart Center with over 1,000 attendees, and numerous workshops are offered throughout the rest of the day to foster learning, growth, community building, and networking across the campus. All Fresno State staff are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Dear Colleagues

President SandovalI am thrilled to be able to invite you all to attend this year’s STAR Day, with a much-anticipated return to the original full-day programming, complete with opportunities for personal and professional development. STAR Day is held to recognize and celebrate 🌟you🌟 for your great work and dedication.  I am so excited to be able to spend this day with all of you!

The committee chose this year's theme as Breakage to Brilliance. It is inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, which symbolizes resilience and finding strength and beauty in the process of repairing and adapting to adversity. This theme resonates within each of us, but it also represents the resilience we have shown over the last few years as a campus; it represents the honoring and acknowledgment of the challenges we have faced and overcome together and how they have made us wiser, kinder, more accountable, more respectful and collaborative.

STAR Day celebrates all of you, as we conclude another academic year and celebrate the most significant milestone in the lives of our graduating students.  I am deeply honored to serve our students with you, as we elevate the quality of life of everyone in our region.

We look forward to spending the day with you celebrating, reflecting, learning and recognizing you for all of your hard work.

Thank you for your commitment to supporting our Valley with our talented graduates!

Go ‘Dogs!
