Public Records Act Requests
Many records of the California State University are available for public inspection under the California Public Records Act. For inquiries regarding the California Public Records Act or to request records maintained at California State University, Fresno, please contact Esther Gonzalez at estherg@csufresno.edu or call 559.278.7461.
Requests for inspection or copying of public records:
- Must be specific and focused. Where a request is not specific or focused, the university will assist.
- May not interfere with the business operations of the university.
- Can be oral or in writing. For purposes of clarity, the CSU encourages written requests.
Fresno State will acknowledge each request within 10 days and advise the requester whether or not records exist and may be disclosed.
Disclosable records will be made available for inspection during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Copies of the records can be made available upon request. The direct cost of duplication is 20 cents per page, irrespective of whether the copies are provided in hard or electronic copy. Different charges may apply to requests under other statutory authority. Records that already exist in an electronic format will be produced without charge.
