While the number of women in senior educational leadership roles has risen in California's 2- and 4-year institutions, gender and racial equity gaps persist. Structural barriers and social constructed gendered expectations obstruct the advancement of women of color. This workshop will unapologetically speak to these challenges and allow a counter-narrative to be heard.

We Don’t Get Cookies, Just (Closer to) Liberation

This session focuses on promoting racial equity in higher education by engaging white
faculty, staff, and administrators in active anti-racism work, including ongoing self-reflection
and exploring strategies such as White Accountability Groups to foster healing, learning,
and accountability, with discussions aimed at increasing awareness of individual and
institutional racism. All racial identities are welcome, particularly those hesitant
to address racial injustices, are encouraged to participate.
Sustainability and YOU
This workshop will go over the state of sustainability at Fresno State and provide ways for you, as a staff member, to contribute to a more sustainable campus and community. Includes general tips for staff to implement in their own lives.
