Usage of Leave Credits

When a Faculty, Staff and Administrators (MPP) is approved for a medical leave of absence in conference with Human Resources, the employee may be eligible to use all available leave credits (e.g. sick, Personal Holiday, Vacation, CTO & Holiday Credit). Check your balances through Employee Self Service > Time Reporting on myfresnostate.

Please note: Faculty, staff or administrators out ill must use their available sick leave credits first. If the employee has exhausted all sick leave credits and is not on an approved medical leave of absence, they cannot use their Personal Holiday, Vacation, CTO or Holiday Credit in lieu of unpaid sick leave. Usage of such leave credits are governed by CBA, CSU Policy and Title 5.

However, the Associate Vice President of Human Resources (President's Designee) may authorize a Request to Substitute Vacation for Unpaid Sick Leave. You will need to follow the appropriate process as outlined in  the link provided. This process does not pertain to Teamsters - Unit 6 employees, please reference the Teamsters/CSU - CBA for additional information.
